Registrar – Edwin A. Ulrich Museum of Art

Wichita State University seeks a Registrar for the Edwin A. Ulrich Museum of Art, the premier venue for modern and contemporary art in Wichita and greater Kansas.

The position reports to the Director of the Ulrich Museum of Art on a campus of 15,000 students in the largest metropolitan area in Kansas. The Museum has 7,000 sq. feet of galleries presenting 8 to 10 exhibitions each year; and a permanent collection of 7,000 artworks with a nationally renowned on-campus sculpture collection of 80 large-scale works. The Registrar works with a team of 8 full-time Museum Professionals and has responsibilities that include acquisitions, loans, exhibitions, deaccessions, storage, packing and shipping, security of objects in transit, insurance policies, and risk management. The Registrar will maintain, advance and transition the collection database in MuseumPlus to an on-line portal accessible to the public. The Registrar also maintains close relationships with donors, lenders, patrons and art handling and shipping professionals.

 The Ulrich holds accreditation from the American Association of Museums and its outdoor sculpture has been ranked among top ten public art collections on a university campus by Public Art Review.
