Reporting to the Nolen Curator of Academic Affairs in the Education Department of the Yale University Art Gallery (YUAG), and working closely with Education and Gallery colleagues, the Wurtele Collection Study Center Program and Outreach Manager manages the day-to-day operations of the YUAG’s new Margaret and Angus Wurtele Collection Study Center, a 36,000-square-foot open storage and teaching facility located at the Collection Studies Center at Yale’s West Campus that houses over 33,000 3D objects. Based at the Wurtele Center, s/he helps to develop, test, and facilitate innovative, multi-audience, and cross-disciplinary engagement opportunities in the space with the aim of helping the Gallery realize the Center’s full potential. S/he liaises with relevant Gallery staff to coordinate the Wurtele Center’s study and storage functions and to strengthen partnerships with collaborators on and off campus, ensuring support for and participation in Wurtele Center academic and public programming. S/he also serves as the ambassador and communications hub for all Wurtele Center activities. Ideal candidates will have at least one year of experience working in an art museum or gallery, and at least one year experience teaching from objects or collections.
