Claudia Esslinger, (new media artist) with Tom Giblin, (physicist) have created a series of works that explore the way that media interprets the natural world. Much of the work is based on the characteristics of LCDs, from the most basic, raw liquid crystal film that is sensitive to electricity, to existing LCD panels that are taken apart and reconstructed with polarizing filters and alternative lighting sources.  Descrete object-based wall pieces and a floor-based interactive  piece are available, but can be installed independently.
