Position Summary
The overall goal of this Membership and Program Coordinator position is to focus on the renewal, retention, and recruitment of AAMG members. This position is to provide support for the Director of Operations in the weekly maintenance of the membership data and inquiries for the Association of Academic Museums and Galleries. This role will perform administrative work and clerical tasks and provide customer service to AAMG members. Additionally, this role will utilize feedback throughout AAMG’s various programmatic endeavors to analyze how to grow AAMG’s membership and move forward programmatically.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain review of existing membership roles and update as needed according to ebb and flow of rolling membership renewals and additions.
- Respond to member questions via email and phone, including but not limited to, helping them navigate the membership renewal process, taking payments over the phone, etc.
- Track, analyze, and report membership data (renewals, growth, retention) to support decision-making by leadership.
- Manage the member experience from initial contact through onboarding and renewal, ensuring a welcoming and supportive journey.
- Act as liaison between membership and Director of Operations, working to assist members as inquiries arise.
- Work towards the continued detailed clean-up of Wild Apricot membership database for the benefit of understanding the make-up of the AAMG membership.
- Assist in the development and distribution of membership campaigns as directed by the Director of Operations.
- Develop, implement, and track membership recruitment and retention strategies supported by data analytics and regular reporting.
- Assist in the development and distribution of member surveys, forms, newsletters, and other ongoing communications, as assistance is needed by the AAMG Communications Coordinator.
- Coordinate member communications and engagement initiatives to foster a strong sense of community and ensure members are aware of benefits.
- Collaborate with Communications, Events, and Finance to support membership-related initiatives and campaigns.
- Assist in oversight and maintenance of the AAMG Census Data, as needed.
- Review feedback from various programmatic aspects of AAMG and provide data-driven recommendations for future growth.
The successful candidate for this position will possess basic computer skills that include working with membership databases such as Wild Apricot and filing programs such as Google Docs and Excel. Additionally, a successful candidate will be well organized with strong attention to detail and have the ability to work independently. The ideal candidate would have experience creating, implementing, and reviewing feedback mechanisms such as post-event surveys.
This is a subcontractor work-from-home position responsible for providing their own computer and internet access in order to fulfill the role of this position.
