Marcia Brady Tucker Curatorial Fellowship

The Marcia Brady Tucker Curatorial Fellowship is a full-time, in-person, one-year fellowship with the possibility of renewal for a second year. The position is intended for an emerging scholar of American art considering the curatorial profession who has completed their Master’s degree. The Fellow will be fully integrated into the Department of American Paintings and Sculpture and will work under the direction of both the curator and assistant curator.
Training & Mentoring
The fellow will receive training in the many aspects of curatorial work, including object research and interpretation, collection care and development, the art market, donor stewardship, exhibition planning, gallery display, writing and speaking for a public audience, and institutional collaboration.
Qualifications
An M.A. in Art History in American art is required. Museum experience, Spanish-language proficiency, and an interest in Latin American art are preferred. The successful candidate will have proven academic research and writing skills; an ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines, take initiative, anticipate actions needed, and exercise independent judgment; and excellent interpersonal skills.
