AAMG Announces New Partnership with TMS Management Firm

Dear AAMG Community,

I write to share some great news with all of you! This week AAMG signed a contract with Total Management Solutions (TMS) to assist with the day-to-day operations of AAMG.

On behalf of the entire board, I would like to thank Lauren Basing, part-time Membership Coordinator and Assistant to the Treasurer, who has been with AAMG since September 2016. Lauren has maintained the AAMG membership database and assisted with member inquires. She has worked closely with Joseph Mella, AAMG Treasurer, assisting with the financial management tasks. Please join me in thanking Lauren for her commitment to AAMG–we wish her well with her future endeavors. She will be with us through June 2018.

I would also like to thank Tom Shapiro for his countless hours spent working on the RFP and in vetting proposals, conducting the first round of interviews, and drawing up a list of finalists. Tom has been a valued and trusted member of the AAMG community since 2010. Prior to his board service, he generously provided pro bono financial modeling, pricing analysis, and planning guidance to the organization. We could not have done this without Tom and his Cultural Strategy Partners consulting firm. Please join me in thanking Tom for his service to AAMG.

Additionally, I would like to thank board member John Wetenhall for working with Tom on vetting the proposals, conducting interviews, and coming up with the finalists.

Once finalists were identified, an interview committee was formed from the AAMG board which consisted of John Wetenhall, Craig Hadley, Anna-Maria Shannon, Joseph Mella, and me. Many hours were dedicated to interviewing and recommending a finalist to the AAMG Board and then negotiating the contract. Many thanks to all who were involved.

Next, I would like to thank Jill Deupi who reviewed the contract and scope of services and worked with me to tighten up the contract language.

And finally, my sincere thanks to the Executive Committee, all of whom were involved in this process during the past 18 months under Jill Hartz and my leadership. This was a lengthy process to go through, but well worth it. I am excited for the AAMG Board to partner with TMS to take the association to the next professional level.

Please welcome Sheila Guston, CAE and President of Total Management Solutions and her team to AAMG. We look forward to this partnership to strengthen the mission and goals of AAMG!

All the best,
John Versluis
