Jennifer is the Director of the Housatonic Museum of Art at Housatonic Community College in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Jennifer joined the AAMG board as an at large member in Summer 2023.
What about your museum excites you?
We have one of the largest collections of any community college in the United States and we are honored to share this world-class collection with our students and community in Bridgeport, CT every day.
What’s one thing — either industry/work-related or not — you learned in the past month?
As a first-time museum director, I am learning new things every day! But this month in particular, I have been embracing the importance of balance, even if that means declining an evening event invitation to spend time with family.
What about the AAMG mission excites you?
I’ve been a huge fan of AAMG ever since I started working in academic museums almost 10 years ago. The mission of being a voice for academic museums and galleries as well as a connector is very exciting for me.
How do you decompress from tough work days?
After a tough day at work, you’ll usually seem slurping a big bowl of ramen and then taking a walk around the neighborhood.
Print or audio books?
Mostly audio books but I always read a print book before going to sleep.
