November 2025 Member of the Month

Meet Molly Fulop (they/she) a doctoral student and Graduate Research Assistant for The LGBTQ+ Intergenerational Dialogue Project in Chicago!

What’s one thing — either industry/work-related or not — you learned in the past month?

In the past month, I’ve been reminded of the joy of LGBTQ+ intergenerational collaborative artmaking and how exciting it is to get to share that art with the wider community during The Dialogue Project’s annual public exhibition!

What do you value about your membership with AAMG?

I’ve been a member of AAMG since undergrad, and I’ve been so appreciative of the way AAMG has provided an incredible network that continues to grow with me as I move into my career.

Coffee or Tea?

Tea

What did you want to be when you were growing up?

I wanted to be a librarian like my grandma!

If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would it be?

I think it’d be fun to trade places with an educator from the Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art. I love their work!

Book/Author suggestion?

I recently read Isaac Fellman’s “Notes from a Regicide” and loved it! I’m currently reading Ria Brodell’s “More Butch Heroes” and have to also recommend their first book, “Butch Heroes.”

What do you enjoy most about being a part of an academic museum?

While I’m not working in an academic museum right now, I love the ability of an academic museum to work closely with faculty and students to pursue creative, interdisciplinary collaborations and offer programming tailored to students’ interests.

What are your hopes for our industry?

I hope we continue to make efforts to deeply engage with our local communities, invest in building close relationships, and provide inclusive, accessible spaces that people are excited to come back to.

Do you have a favorite joke to share?

5-year-old me’s favorite: Why didn’t the skeleton go to the party? Because he had no-BODY to go with!
