Faculty Fellow – Graduate Program in Museum Studies, Syracuse University

The Graduate Program in Museum Studies, an interdisciplinary program of the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University, invites applications for a Faculty Fellow for a one-year appointment beginning August 2021, with the possibility for renewal. The Faculty Fellow is an integral position to the diverse and professional faculty in the Graduate Program in Museum Studies, bringing contemporary insight and unique experiences to the program. We seek a scholar/experienced museum professional whose research interests engage the history and theory of museums, practical museum-based skills, and specific museum experience/research in areas including but not limited to diversity and inclusion, new technologies, museums and the law, and non-profit development and fundraising. Responsibilities include teaching three Museum Studies courses per semester, assisting in the advising master’s students, and actively participating in program trips, conferences, special lectures, and other activities. Some teaching experience is required, and professional museum experience is strongly desired. The School of Design and the College of Visual and Performing Arts seek candidates whose research, teaching, service, or professional experience has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusion in higher education.
