Assistant Curator for Collections Research and Engagement – Weatherspoon Art Museum, UNC Greensboro

The Weatherspoon Art Museum on the campus of UNC Greensboro seeks to hire a Full Time Assistant Curator for Collections Research and Engagement reporting to the Curator and Head of Exhibition. This person will foster the strategic alignment of the museum’s database and user interface with the museum’s priorities. Duties include research of the collection and oversight of analog and digital collections engagement, including tagging objects in the database; coordinating faculty and student engagement; and teaching with the collections. All Weatherspoon staff supports the director in developing a vibrant and engaged community by promoting the museum’s strategic framework and its goals.

The successful candidate must have bachelor’s degree in art history or the equivalent, master’s degree preferred. One year of relevant museum experience, including teaching with art objects, with a focus on modern and contemporary art. Knowledge of collections databases and digital platforms and assets.
