Assistant Director for Strategic Engagement – Weatherspoon Art Museum, UNC Greensboro

The Weatherspoon Art Museum on the campus of UNC Greensboro seeks to hire a full-time Assistant Director for Strategic Engagement. Reporting to the director, the assistant director provides leadership in project management and workflow, strategic initiatives and partnerships, external and internal communications, and museum council and donor relations. Promotes and implements access and inclusion initiatives; participates in and supports overall strategic planning and manages reporting and communications. This position is collaborative, working across the organization and with external stakeholders to manage and implement institutionally impactful initiatives including policy, process, and accreditation; strategic community partnerships; and inclusion and belonging. Supports the director in developing a vibrant and engaged community by promoting the museum’s commitment to access, equity, diversity, and inclusion. Supervises position(s) relevant to this scope as determined by the director.

The successful candidate must have a BA; advanced degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, ideally in a nonprofit, museum, cultural organization, and/or higher education environment. Experience in supervising staff.
