Coordinating Curator of Community Engagement – Weatherspoon Art Museum, UNC Greensboro

The Weatherspoon Art Museum at UNC Greensboro seeks to hire a 24-month, full-time Coordinating Curator of Community Engagement. This new position aligns with the museum’s commitment to institutional learning and change through amplifying the voices and experiences of our diverse communities and building bridges across UNC Greensboro and the city. To that end, the Coordinating Curator of Community Engagement will serve as a key partner for the museum’s grant-funded initiative, Leading with Objects: Engaging the Community in Institutional Change by facilitating a collaborative, inquiry-based, and iterative reconsideration of its collection of modern and contemporary art.

We seek a colleague whose interests focus on facilitating innovation and learning, building lasting relationships, and collaborating with campus and community partners. The successful candidate should have experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds across diverse settings. Candidates with a background in education, sociology, psychology, public history, anthropology, social work, museum studies or communication are encouraged to apply.
