The University of Oregon’s Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art (JSMA) is a nationally accredited teaching museum located in the Pacific Northwest. Through its 14,000+ collection of historic and contemporary art from the Americas, Asia, and Europe and a robust changing exhibitions schedule, the museum serves on and off campus communities through innovative and diverse programs. The mission of the museum is to further the academic mission of the University of Oregon and further the appreciation and enjoyment of the visual arts for the general public.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Development of the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art Development Program Manager is responsible for managing a variety of complex fundraising matters, such as donor and sponsor giving programs, donor acknowledgments and stewardship, member and corporate solicitations, and special events. Stewardship of donors is integral to the fundraising process and is often key to the museum’s ability to secure additional funds from donors. This position will have volunteer management responsibility and advisory board (Leadership Council) duties as assigned. The program manager will work directly with members, annual donors, foundations, local, state, and federal grants agencies, and corporate sponsors, providing an important link between the university, the museum, and its donors.
The program manager takes an active role in the JSMA development program, including direct mail and in person solicitations, program administration, and special events. Projects will often require coordination with the Executive Director, Associate Director of Development, curators, museum staff, student workers in the museum, and other units on the UO campus. This position supervises student interns and may supervise a volunteer coordinator.
