Louisiana State Representative

Welcome Tom Friel, Coordinator for Interpretation & Public Engagement at the Newcomb Art Museum of Tulane University, as our new Louisiana State Representative!

From Tom:
Academic museums and galleries are often one the few bridges between the institution they are part of and their neighboring communities. Regardless of mission or focus, these museums and galleries extend the goal of education and enrichment outside of the classroom and campus to build stronger relationships with their respective cities, and in that process, create new relationships through a growing audience. AAMG provides resources for those working in these fields to best navigate important opportunities of building and strengthening community, so our individual missions can best be achieved. As Louisiana’s state rep for AAMG, I look forward to working with and learning from my colleagues across the state so all of our communities can thrive.
