About The Position: The School of Arts & Sciences provides excellence in learning opportunities for all students at SUNY Plattsburgh through a core liberal arts education. We develop students who can think critically, have mastered their discipline, can communicate effectively, and are broadly educated. The Plattsburgh State Art Museum (PSAM) collects, studies, preserves, exhibits, interprets, and publishes original works of art while advancing the academic goals of the college as well as contributing to the campus climate and the cultural education of the surrounding community. As an integral part of the department, this position will be responsible for ensuring the overall safety, preservation, maintenance, and documentation for all works in PSAM’s collection. Additional duties are expected to include, but are not limited to: receiving, preparing and cataloguing new acquisitions; planning and organization exhibition-related movement of objects; managing the database of collection contents and photography for the collection; collaborating with art preparation staff; and supervise consultants and student workers and interns.
