Heidi Davis-Soylu

Heidi Davis-Soylu is the Lucienne M. Glaubinger Director of Education at the Indiana University Eskenazi Museum of Art.  She began at the museum in 2018 and helped to reimagine and lead the museum through a renovation and reopening in 2019.  During her time at the museum, she began the first art therapy program in an academic art museum in the country, launched a rural arts education outreach program, and developed the first interpretation position for the museum.  Prior to her work at IU, she was the Director of Academic Engagement and Learning Research at Newfields, formerly known as the Indianapolis Museum of Art, where she began the first art museum preschool focused on serving children in poverty.  As a licensed educator for 20 years, she has taught in public elementary schools, university classrooms, and museums.  She received both her Master’s and PhD in art education from IU Bloomington, and her Bachelor’s in elementary education from IU Southeast.
