Dr. Natalie Marsh joined Kenyon College in the fall of 2010 as the inaugural Director and Chief Curator of the Gund Gallery. In the past twenty years, Marsh has curated over 150 exhibitions of contemporary and historical art, design and material culture. She has served as inaugural director and chief curator of other college exhibition and museum programs, including Columbus College of Art & Design and Denison University, in addition to numerous additional positions with seven other academic museums, commercial galleries, historical collection and house museums and contemporary arts centers. Marsh has secured curatorial, collection, program and sustainability support from major foundations, government agencies, corporations and private individuals and has toured projects to Chicago, New York and other major cities and academic venues. She has taught courses in curatorial and museum studies, senior studio thesis, drawing, 2-D design, surveys in Western, Japanese, Chinese, and South Asian art history and popular visual culture. Marsh has delivered over 15 invited and curatorial talks and chaired panels and presented scholarship at 25 national and international conferences for art and art history, Asian studies and religious practice, and museum and curatorial issues and has published on these subjects. She holds a BFA in painting with University and Departmental Honors from Illinois Wesleyan University; a MFA in painting and drawing and PhD in art history from The Ohio State University.
