Roksana Filipowska

Programs and Outreach Manager at Yale University Art Gallery’s Wurtele Study Center

Roksana Filipowska is the Programs and Outreach Manager at Yale University Art Gallery’s Wurtele Study Center, where she cultivates collaboration across the humanities and the sciences. Roksana completed her Ph.D. in art history at the University of Pennsylvania with a dissertation on artist experiments with plastic materials and the changing formulations of “plasticity” within aesthetic and scientific discourse since the 1960s. She has developed and taught the course “SciArt: Intersections of Art and Science,” and has published on topics including art and neuroplasticity, the aesthetics of climate change, and the creative potential of failure in the arts and the sciences. Prior to joining the Gallery at Yale, she worked at the Barnes Foundation, the Science History Institute, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement.
