Job Summary

The PreK-12 Experiences Manager will be the Eskenazi Museum of Art’s leader in creating and overseeing preschool through high school experiences for students, teachers, and families with school age students. This manager will lead local and rural area outreach; coordinate the Youth Art Month (YAM) program; create youth studio programming; develop family programming; develop and oversee summer camps; create homeschool programs; and oversee and facilitate teacher professional development. The successful candidate will be an energetic and imaginative educator, with a strong ability to connect with teachers, students, and families in relevant ways.

Note: This is a one year limited-term position, with potential to renew.

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree in art education, museum studies, education, or relevant humanities field and three years as an educator working with students and teachers, experience can range from early childhood through high school.

Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Strong leadership and ability to effectively communicate and exchange information. Ability to work collegially with staff, faculty, and the arts community. Demonstrated ability to supervise as well as to work successfully with others. Proven ability to handle a variety of tasks concurrently in a complex environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree; current teaching license; two years of experience organizing and implementing programming in an art museum or similar setting; record of art museum teaching.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

Ability to work while standing for up to 10 hours; lift 40 pounds; monitor programs and respond quickly to needs of clients, guests, and security.

Salary Range: $40,000-$42,000

Salary Plan: PAE

Salary Grade: 3PR
