Preparator – Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville (MOCA), University of North Florida

The Museum of Contemporary Art Jacksonville (MOCA) a cultural institute of the University of North Florida is seeking a Preparator.

The Preparator is part of the Curatorial Team at MOCA Jacksonville. Reporting to the Senior Curator, the Preparator works to execute and develop the configuration of temporary exhibition installations, including the preparation of the galleries, and fabrication and construction of exhibition displays. S/he maintains Museum collection storage and workshop areas, the inventory of curatorial supplies, including AV equipment, and updates digital records for permanent collection inventory. The Preparator supervises temporary crews, art installers and outside contractors while on site, and works with Curator and Registrar to develop and enforce ongoing departmental procedures related to proper and safe art handling methods.
