The Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth, seeks a Registration Assistant to join the museum’s registration team to ensure access, integrity, security and condition of the museum’s collections documentation using the museum’s database, The Museum System (TMS). This position will assist with external requests for the use of collection’s images, monitor the movement of objects within the museum, and maintain the object physical files. This position will interface with the curatorial, digital platforms, and exhibitions departments.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in art history, anthropology or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience; professional experience in a museum, gallery, historical home or similar institution; excellent computer and communications skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Experience in creating powerful, dynamic Crystal reports and excellent working knowledge of The Museum System (TMS) along with knowledge of current registration practices and principles is a plus.
