Reservation & Events Coordinator – University of Nebraska State Museum

The University of Nebraska State Museum is seeking a full-time Reservations & Events Coordinator. Located in Morrill Hall on the UNL city campus, this position coordinates private rentals, group reservations, and related amenities. The position will liaise with individuals, schools, and other organizations wishing to use the Museum for a variety of private and University rental purposes. Duties will include handling inquiries (in person, phone, and email), coordinating logistics, facilitating event setup and take-down, and implementing relevant UNL and museum policies and procedures. Evening and weekend hours are typically required to coordinate events. This position will serve as manager on duty during these events and may be called upon to do so occasionally on other occasions. Typical work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday with occasional Sundays.

Minimum pay is $16.827/hr with full benefits package.

Duties include:

  • Scheduling private rentals, field trips, birthday parties, and other rental activities
  • Coordination of events to ensuring staffing and other resources are available
  • Assist in the administration of the Museum’s membership program
  • Support the delivery of Museum activities and amenities, including partnering with other Division to successfully deliver programs

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, hospitality or related field; equivalent education/experience will be considered. At least 2 years experience in events coordination, scheduling, project management, or customer service. Knowledge and experience with full suite of Microsoft Office programs and reservations/scheduling software. Strong communication, customer service, and organization skills required.
