Dana is a graduate student at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). She is working on an MA in Cultural Heritage and Resource Management through the Integrative Studies program, as well as a certificate in Museum Studies. At SIUE, she has focused on digital exhibit curation and museum collections management. In May of 2019, she completed a digital exhibit celebrating the life and legacy of Dixieland jazz musician Jean Kittrell. Her current work focuses on the varied approaches to managing departmental collections in university museums.
As a Graduate Research Assistant with the University Museum and Department of Anthropology, Dana has developed cataloging and processing protocol, created storage mounts, and managed a cataloging project for ethnographic and archaeological artifacts. She has also worked as Collection Assistant with the Hartenberger World Music Collection, currently on rotating exhibition at the Sheldon Art Galleries in St. Louis, Missouri. Dana plans to work in collection management or registration after graduation.
