Todd Burkhardt serves as the Director of Campus Partnerships for the Center for Rural Engagement,facilitating work with faculty, staff, and students that connects Indiana University’s broad resources to improve the well-being of rural Indiana predominately in three focus areas: health and well-being, quality of place; and environmental stewardship. He is also an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Criminal Justice. Todd served for 28 years as an active-duty U.S. Army infantry officer. During that time he had many roles and assignments,but in particular he was the Director for Indiana University’s Army ROTC program as well as taught philosophy and the ethics of war at the United States Military Academy, West Point. Todd holds a Bachelor of Arts in sociology from Moravian College, a Master of Arts in philosophy from the University of South Carolina, and a doctoral degree in philosophy from the University of Tennessee.
