The Chazen Museum of Art, University of Wisconsin-Madison, is recruiting for a Digital Asset Coordinator for a 2 year grant-funded position. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or emerging professional in library science, as well as individuals with relevant experience in other areas.
This position will involve selection, inventorying, and description of both analog and digital assets, as well as coordination with the UW-Madison Libraries to deliver assets for long term discovery and digital preservation. The individual will closely collaborate with the Digital Library Project Coordinator as well as with staff in Digital Library Services unit of the UW-Madison Libraries. This position will work onsite at the Chazen Museum of Art, with some remote work possible in certain phases of the project.
Salary: $54,000 annually. This position is expected to last two years, from the start of employment, and is full-time at 40 hours/week. Full benefits such as vacation time and health insurance are provided. The museum is easily accessible on bus lines and bike paths.
About the Project: The University of Wisconsin–Madison has been awarded a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation to support the “Coordinating Cultural Heritage Collections at UW–Madison” project. The Chazen Museum of Art will serve as a pilot organization for the development of tools for collecting, preserving and sharing digital assets. When completed, the project will allow students, faculty and staff to access the Chazen’s art and digital archive collections from one online system. In the future, the systems developed via the project will be available to other collections across campus.

The Chazen Museum of Art makes its home between two lakes on the beautiful campus of the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
