Traveling Exhibition: BLOW UP: Inflatable Contemporary Art

By popular demand we have extended the tour of our very fun and engaging exhibition, BLOW UP: Inflatable Contemporary Art! We now only have early 2018 open (mid-February – mid-June), so please let us know ASAP if you are interested in this time period. More details are below…

BLOW UP explores the medium of inflatable art with large scale works by seven internationally renowned artists: Claire Ashley, Lee Boroson, Lewis deSoto, Patrick Flibotte, Billie Grace Lynn, Guy Overfelt, and Momoyo Torimitsu. The exhibition also includes video works by Christo and Jeanne-Claude and Joshua Allen Harris, and smaller inflatables by Gary Baseman, Nick Cave, FriendsWithYou, and FatBoy, Inc. A selection of images may be viewed here: http://bit.ly/BLOWUPimages

The artists in BLOW UP translate everyday materials and imagery into larger-than-life, but lighter-than-air art that is rich with meaning. The works are whimsical and often humorous, but also contain serious critiques of pop-culture, social norms and the politics of space. Together, the accessibility of the material combined with thoughtful content engages viewers from a variety of age levels and backgrounds. The exhibition has received much praise and press throughout the US. Our tour schedule may be found on our website: http://www.bedfordgallery.org/exhibitions/traveling

BLOW UP is available for 8 weeks for $5,000, additional weeks are prorated. The exhibition is scalable up to 5,000 sq. feet and includes equipment. Full specifications for the exhibition are available upon request.

We hope you consider BLOW UP an exciting component to your exhibition programming. Please let me know if you have any questions or would like additional information.
